My driver license will be coming due just before I receive my new address. What should I do?
If you are due to renew your driver license or photo ID around the same time your new Uniform Address is estimated to be installed, we recommend you renew your license as close to the expiration date as possible.
However, your driver license does NOT need to list your current address on it unless you hold a Commercial Driver License (CDL).
To update your address within the Department of Transportation, visit the Wisconsin Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) website or visit your local DMV office.
Individuals who receive a new address as part of the Uniform Addressing project can have a replacement driver's license (standard or CDL) issued to them by the DMV at no cost by visiting their local DMV office. Please bring your Official Notice with you as proof of the new address.
